CASABLANCA — The main supporter groups of Wydad Athletic Club (WAC), led by the Winners 2005 ultras, expressed strong opposition to local authority decisions banning away supporters from traveling to El Jadida for their Botola Pro clash against Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi at the Stade Ben Ahmed El Abdi.
In a public statement, the ultras group criticized the recurring restrictions on fan mobility across Moroccan stadiums, labeling the administrative ban an arbitrary decision that deprives supporters of their right to follow their team. The group argued that blanket travel bans undermine the atmosphere of Moroccan football and fail to address the root causes of security concerns.
Despite the travel ban imposed ahead of the match, reports indicated that groups of Wydad supporters still attempted to travel toward El Jadida to show solidarity with their club. On the pitch, Wydad AC went on to secure a 2–0 victory over Difaâ El Jadida.
Away fan travel bans have become an increasingly frequent measure enacted by local prefectures in Morocco to curb potential crowd disturbances, though the strategy continues to draw sharp pushback from football supporters nationwide.
