What is at stake
- A win or a draw would send Morocco into the round of 16 as group runners-up, matching their best showing at this tournament, reached in 2025, according to Morocco World News.
- A win for Argentina would lift them above Morocco in the standings.
- The tournament has 24 teams in six groups. The top two in each group and the four best third-placed teams reach the last 16, according to Wikipedia.
Morocco are coached by Youness Rabie and Argentina by Christian Meloni. The tournament runs from October 17 to November 7, 2026, with matches staged in Rabat and Salé.
The young women’s side is the latest Moroccan team to bring a title run home this month: the national futsal team won a record fourth Futsal Africa Cup of Nations in Rabat on October 21. The Lioncelles will hope for a similar lift from home support as the knockout rounds approach.
