Morocco’s futsal team has won the Africa Cup of Nations again. The hosts beat Angola 5-2 in the final in Rabat on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), adding a fourth continental title to those of 2016, 2020 and 2024.

How the final unfolded

Five different Moroccan players found the net, according to CAF’s match report:

  • Othmane Elidrissi (17th minute)
  • Youssef Jouad (around the 19th)
  • Raiss El Fenni (21st)
  • Ismail Amazal (33rd)
  • Bilal Bakkali (35th)

Angola, who had come from two goals down to beat Algeria in the semi-final, replied through João Cambangula and Anderson Fortes. Egypt took third place with an 8-1 win over Algeria, CAF reported.

A dominant run through the tournament

The eight-team tournament was played in Rabat from October 12 to 21. Morocco topped Group A with wins of 4-0 over Algeria, 7-0 over Zambia and 6-0 over Libya, then beat Egypt 6-0 in the semi-final, according to Morocco World News. Bilal Bakkali, Ismail Amazal and Soufian Charraoui each scored twice in that match. The side, coached by Hicham Dguig, did not concede until the final.

Individual awards

Morocco also dominated the individual prizes, CAF said. Youssef Jouad was named best player of the competition and was also man of the match in the final. Youssef Bensellam was voted best goalkeeper, and Morocco won the fair play award. Angola’s Cambangula finished as top scorer with eight goals.

The result confirms Morocco’s place at the top of African futsal and adds to a sporting year in which the country is also preparing to co-host the 2030 men’s football World Cup. For more on that project, see our look at the Grand Stade Hassan II.
