The Vienna Open 2026, officially the Erste Bank Open, begins on 26 October at the Wiener Stadthalle, with world No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz in the field on a wild card. The indoor ATP 500 event runs until 1 November and is one of two big stops this week, alongside the Swiss Indoors in Basel.
Who is playing in Vienna?
Alcaraz, 23, returns to Vienna for the first time since 2021, when he reached the semi-finals on his debut at 18 before losing to Alexander Zverev, who went on to win the title. Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Flavio Cobolli and Alex de Minaur, all Top-10 players, have also committed, according to the ATP Tour.
Alcaraz owns a 33-5 record in 2026 and has won the Australian Open, Doha and Tokyo. A title in Vienna would be his fourth of the season. Jannik Sinner won the event in 2025.
Swiss Indoors Basel and the autumn calendar
The Swiss Indoors Basel, another ATP 500, is played over the same week, from 26 October to 1 November. Joao Fonseca won it last year. The Rolex Paris Masters (ATP 1000) follows from 2 to 8 November, and the Bybit Stockholm Open runs from 8 to 14 November.
The race to the Nitto ATP Finals
The Nitto ATP Finals take place in Turin from 15 to 22 November for the top eight singles players and doubles teams. Zverev and Alcaraz have already qualified, leaving six singles places. Ben Shelton, Flavio Cobolli, Frances Tiafoe, Arthur Fils, Daniil Medvedev, Alex de Minaur, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Jodar and Tommy Paul are among those still in contention.
