Tourism contributed 7.5% of Morocco’s gross domestic product in 2025, up from 7.2% a year earlier, according to the High Commission for Planning (HCP), the national statistics agency. The figures, published on 20 October 2026, come from the HCP’s tourism satellite account and are provisional.
A double-digit rise in tourism output
The HCP puts tourism GDP at MAD 129.7 billion in 2025, an increase of 11.7% from MAD 116.2 billion in 2024. Tourism production reached MAD 199.4 billion, up 9.6%, while value added in the sector climbed 10.8% to MAD 106.8 billion.
Foreign visitors drive spending
Total tourism consumption in the country stood at MAD 222.4 billion, up 10.3%. According to the HCP, spending by non-resident visitors was the main engine:
- Inbound tourism consumption: MAD 154 billion, up 12.5%.
- Domestic and outbound tourism consumption: MAD 68.4 billion, up 5.5%.
As a result, visitors from abroad accounted for 69.2% of total tourism consumption, compared with 67.9% the previous year, based on figures reported by Morocco World News.
The numbers show how much of the sector’s growth now rests on international arrivals. For earlier coverage of this year’s visitor flow, see our report on 15.7 million tourists in nine months.
