Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1 in El Clásico at Camp Nou on Sunday, October 25, 2026, with Kylian Mbappé scoring twice, including a late winner. The La Liga result ended Barcelona’s perfect start to the league season and cut their lead at the top to three points.

How the El Clásico result unfolded

Mbappé opened the scoring in the 41st minute when his shot took a deflection off a Barcelona defender’s clearance and ended up in the net. Raphinha levelled in the 61st minute, finishing a reverse pass from Pedri to make it 1-1.

With three minutes left, Eduardo Camavinga broke clear on the counter-attack and squared the ball for Mbappé, who tapped in the winner. It was Mbappé’s second goal of the night and his 11th La Liga goal in 10 matches this season.

La Liga table after the Clásico

Barcelona remain top of La Liga with 27 points from 10 games. Atlético Madrid are second on 26 points, and Real Madrid moved up to third on 24, three points behind the leaders. Real Betis, who drew 0-0 with Celta Vigo the same weekend, stay fourth.

The defeat came only days after Barcelona’s 4-2 Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain. You can see where both clubs stand in Europe in our Champions League table after matchday 3.

Reaction from both dugouts

The match marked José Mourinho’s return to El Clásico 13 years after his first spell at Real Madrid ended. He described it as the most difficult game against the highest-quality opponent and said his team produced their most impressive performance of the season.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said his players were disappointed and lacked freshness after heavy travel, including trips to Seville and Paris, but said he would not make excuses.

What it means for the title race

The gap between the two giants is now just three points, with Atlético sitting between them, so the title race looks wide open. Barcelona will want to bounce back quickly, while Real Madrid have momentum after recent setbacks against Real Betis and Atlético.
